Getting Around Destin
At only 8.2 square miles, Destin is a small city. Most of the attractions of the city will be within walking distance, or a short drive from your resort. Most of the resorts and attractions of Destin are located on scenic Highway 98. The highway, also known as Emerald Coast Parkway, cuts right through Destin and can bring you close to your favorite sights. You can rent a car or get a taxi to travel this road.
Rental Cars
Rental cars are available from Enterprise Rent-A-Car on Highway 98, or at various rental companies at airports in nearby cities. Fly into Pensacola or Fort Walton Beach, and you can find a rental car easily before taking a short drive into Destin.
Taxis
There are multiple taxi services in Destin, including Yellow Cab Destin, Destin City Cab, and Destin Airport Shuttle & Taxi. Many resorts offer a shuttle to and from local airports, saving you the need to secure private transportation.
Island Shuttle
The Island Shuttle is a free shuttle that visits many of the popular resorts and attractions in Destin. The shuttle runs from May to October, and will provide free rides until 1am.
