Public Beaches
Crystal Beach—This is a beautiful white-sand beach on the south side of Destin, bordering the Gulf of Mexico. You can find free public access points to the beach just off of Scenic 98, the highway that runs through Destin. Henderson Beach State Park—This state park provides beach access for a small fee. You can swim, rest on the sand, or fish in the ocean. James Lee Park—This county park provides free entry and beach access. Hike over the dunes or swim in the surf. Kids will enjoy the playground. The park also provides picnic tables and restrooms with changing rooms.
